The Institute of Chin Affairs Inc. (ICA) is a non-profit organization committed to uplifting the Chin people of Myanmar (Burma) through dedicated efforts in education, humanitarian support, and research.\n

\nFounded in May 2021 by members of the Chin diaspora from the United States, Canada, Australia, Europe, India, and Malaysia, the ICA strives to address the pressing needs of communities affected by the ongoing conflict in Myanmar.\n

Chin State and the Chin people\n<\/h2><\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Located in western Burma (Myanmar), Chin State borders Manipur State in the north and Mizoram State of India and Chittagong Division of Bangladesh in the west. According to the 2014 census, the state has a population of 478,801, while an estimated 1.5 million Chin people live outside the state. Recognized as the least developed region in Myanmar, Chin State has the highest poverty rate among all states and regions, as highlighted in the UNDP’s Myanmar Living Conditions Survey 2017<\/a>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

There has been a humanitarian crisis in Chin State due to intense fighting between Chin resistance forces and the Myanmar Tatmadaw. Over two thousand houses have been destroyed and approximately half of Chin State’s population have been forced to flee their homes.
