Myanmar refugees in Zokhawthar village, Champhai District, Mizoram State of north-east India celebrated World Refugee Day on Jun 20, 2022, at Myanmar Refugees Clinic.

Zokhawthar is an Indian border village on the India-Myanmar border, near the Rih lake in Falam township, Chin State, Myanmar. This village with approximately 600 households is hosting over 740 Myanmar refugee families (about 3,800 persons).

World Refugee Day is an international day designated by the United Nations to honour refugees around the globe. It falls each year on June 20. The day was first established on 20 June 2001, in recognition of the 50th anniversary of the 1951 Convention Relating to the Status of Refugees.
