Erosion of Fair Trial under State Administrative Council: Arbitrary Arrests, Detentions and Execution of the Chin People
Dr. Dawt Nei Iang, Program Coordinator at Institute of Chin Affairs (ICA) writes in “Erosion of Fair Trial Under State Administrative Council ” that since the military coup, the SAC has deliberately and violently repressed any activity against them.
Violent crackdowns on peaceful protesters, arbitrary arrests, and mass detentions are being carried out extensively throughout the country. Arbitrary arrests and unlawful detention are intimidation tactics imposed by the SAC without due process or any legal basis or the legal protection of a fair trial.
